2008 Brooke County Fair Exhibit

Display of home grown vegetables and flowers from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
on Friday, September 12, 2008
Judging will begin on Friday, September 12, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.

The garden and flower exhibits will be auctioned off with the proceeds going to the Brooke county Fair, if the exhibits are not picked up to 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 13, 2008.

CONTEST RULES

Categories:

1.  Garden Basket - Basket arranged with garden vegetables that you have grown.  (Sample:  Tomatoes, Corn, Green Beans and Cucumbers in a basket.)

2.  Flower Basket - Basket arranged with fresh cut flowers that you have grown in a basket.

Rules & Regulations

1.  Exhibitor must be registered.  Registration forms are available at the WVU Brooke County Extension Office and at the Brooke Hills Park.

2.  Exhibits must be brought to the Brooke Fair grounds on time or they will not be shown.

3.  Each entry must have an entry tag number attached to it (provided on the day of entry).

4.  All vegetables and flowers must be grown by the exhibitor.

5.  All exhibitors agree to be bound by the rules and regulations of the Fair.

6.  All exhibits must be made by the exhibitor and shall be property at the time of entry.  No commercial articles accepted.  Any exhibit nor deemed worthy will not be placed.

7.  All previously entered articles may not be entered again.

8.  Every effort will be made to protect all exhibits on display from all damage, but the Brooke Fair is not in any way responsible for accidents, loss or damage by water, fire, theft or financial losses or otherwise whatever the case or extend of the damage or loss.

9.  Exhibits may be picked up on Saturday, September 8th until 4:00 P.M.  Any exhibits not picked up by the deadline will be auctioned off with the proceeds benefiting the Brooke County Fair.

This program is sponsored by the Brooke County Master Gardeners and the WVU Extension Office.

JUDGING RULES

1.  No person can act as Judge in any class in which he or she may be an exhibitor.

2.  Judges will make awards only on entries which are worthy of premiums or where there is no competition will be decided by the Judges.

3.  If it is determined that any exhibitor has made or caused to be made any false statement to or inferred with judging, the exhibitor will be disqualified from exhibiting this year and next.

4.  Judging is closed to the public.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS SEPTEMBER 3, 2008
